We are overjoyed to announce the Martin House Glitter Ball has raised over £215,000! In a truly special evening, we shattered all records by raising more than ever before!

Held at the beautiful Rudding Park Hotel in Harrogate, the black-tie event saw over 600 supporters enjoy dinner, dancing and auctions of top prizes. The evening was hosted by TV presenter and Martin House ambassador Christine Talbot, alongside Emma and Dixie from Heart FM. And the night was marked by emotional speeches from our ambassador Gareth Southgate and dad Jack Harrison, whose son Thomas relies on our hospice.

Clair Holdsworth, Chief Executive, said:

“It was an incredible evening – the Glitter Ball is a vital event for us and is testament to the generosity and support we receive on the evening, we can’t thank our supporters enough for their help raising our record total.”

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without our headline sponsor HARIBO, a long-standing partner and champion of Martin House.

Jon Hughes, Managing Director of HARIBO UK and Ireland, said:

“It’s always an honour supporting Martin House’s fundraisers, and the Glitter Ball is the biggest event in its calendar, which is why we couldn’t miss it. This year we have helped raise an incredible £215,000. Children and families across Yorkshire depend on this charity, so we’re proud to have been such a longstanding partner and champion of Martin House. We already can’t wait for what next year holds!”

A huge thanks to our drinks reception sponsor KPP Architects and our wonderful event supporters: Tastecard, Nicolla’s Florist, Tick Tock Nursery, and Berry’s Jewellers.

The Glitter Ball was held in aid of  THE BUILD, a £21.9m project to transform the hospice. The complex needs of children living with life-shortening conditions has changed, and so must we. THE BUILD will provide a purpose-built space to match the specialist care we already provide, transforming the lives of the those who rely on our care.

Jack Harrison, a Martin house dad and speaker at the ball, said:

“I hope people will support THE BUILD because it’ll become an amazing place for children like Thomas. It’s already amazing, but this is going to make it absolutely super. Martin House is a lifeline for me and my family. The care they provide is second to none, a support we rely on. I hope anyone who is able to will support THE BUILD to ensure the facilities at the hospice match the exceptional care offered around the clock to us and to other families.”

It was an evening filled with love, laughter and most importantly, incredible generosity. Generosity that will be instrumental in transforming our hospice, creating a lasting legacy for the children and families of Yorkshire.
